If the mobile network at your site is regularly weak and there is no Wi-Fi, the traditional radio set is more reliable. In every other case — city tours, changing group sizes, occasional or seasonal use — phone-based live audio is cheaper and involves considerably less work, because there is no device fleet to manage.
Renting a traditional receiver set typically runs on a per-device daily fee, which may also carry a deposit and, in many cases, a delivery charge; for a larger group the daily fee grows in proportion to the headcount.
